~ Bennett Hill Vineyard ~

MARECHAL FOCH is the name of the red grape my father grows.

His vineyard is located in Martock, Nova Scotia

He welcomes volunteers to help him pick and he currently has around 10 - 15 people who help out from time to time. There is always an invitation of a tasty meal at the end of the work day.

He drops off most of his grapes next door to the much larger vineyard called Sainte Famille .http://www.st-famille.com/ This vineyard is about 18 acres in size and employs several staff. This vineyard grows grapes and produces a wine as a business.

Todd, my brother a good and faithful servant...

My father owns a two acre vineyard and he works at least eight months out of the year preparing for the big harvest. He works all day in the heat to get these beautiful grapes ready to be picked and sent away next door to be made into wine. Last year we received our first bottle of wine in October of 2008 . It was his second year to have a bottled wine.

My Dad who is always in a hurry......

I lift these little crates and dump them into the large ton bin. It is a real good work out and I feel sore by the end of the day.

Next month I will take more pictures of harvest 2009 and post pictures and hopeful get a bottle of this years wine...
