~ Havested Wheat Grass ~

~ Lexen Healthy Juicer ~ Manual Wheat Grass Juice extractor

Before buying a wheatgrass juicer, it is important to know exactly what features you need and what you will be using the wheatgrass juicer for to make sure you buy the best juicer possible for your needs. There are many benefits of drinking wheatgrass, and having the right juicer will help make making it and drinking it enjoyable.
Wheatgrass juicers are slightly different than regular juicers commonly used for fruits and vegetables. This is because since wheatgrass basically is a long piece of grass, the juicer must work very slowly to extract the juice from the blade of glass. This doesn’t mean it will take forever to make your own wheatgrass juice - it simply means that you can often use a hand cranked wheatgrass juicer or an automatic one simply runs slower that traditional juicers in order to ensure the important nutrients and enzymes found in wheatgrass are not lost.

I cut the wheat grass with a pair of sissors and put it through our juicer. I would recommend a very good juicer for the grass.

Wheatgrass is the best food on the planet....

Naturally rich in proteins and sugar wheatgrass is a complete food for many animals it contains a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals. A shot of wheatgrass is like a single complete supplement. It has all the B vitamins; indeed it is a vegetable source of B12, and also vitamins A, D, E, and K. Wheatgrass is rich in minerals, major and minor. It contains calcium, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, zinc and selenium. These are minerals important for cardiovascular and immune system function. For healing purposes potassium ions are particularly vital to balance the composition of body fluids, and thus its alkalinity.
Wheatgrass is highly active chemically and contains over 80 enzymes. These are used for digestion but also to detoxify harmful substances. The famous nutritional scientist, Dr E Bircher called chlorophyll “concentrated sun power- it increases the function of the heart, improves the vascular system the intestine the uterus and the lungs”.

Chlorophyll has strong antioxidant properties. It can strip out free radicals which are a damaging by-product of metabolism. Free radicals encourage an acidic cell environment, contribute to the ageing process and have been implicated in the development of some cancers.

The chlorophyll molecule is structurally very similar to the iron carrying component of haemoglobin. Studies in the USA have shown anaemic animals restored by ingesting chlorophyll rich food.

~ Growing Wheat Grass ~

Soak the wheat berries overnight then keep them covered and in a sprouting jar for another 12-24 hours. They should at this point have a white shoot.

Two days high....

Wheat grass is not as complicated as I thought it would be. I have tried it once before and threw out the sprouted wheat berries thinking they were moldy. I have now come to understand white sometimes on shoots can be fibers. They are supposed to be there in order to take root. I have now been growing my wheat grass only two days and it is two inches high. All I have done is soak the wheat berries overnight and then let them produce a shoot. Once they had opened up and begun growing a sprout I placed them in my sprouter kit. I rinse them twice a day and the are continuing to to grow....Woo Hoo !!

Four days high.....

The little garden has zucchini, cucumber, radishes, spinach, parsely, red cabbage, sage, snow peas and green beans....

This garden has been neglected and needs weeding I spent an hour with my son weeding it and looked much better. We were getting bitten and had to take a break. We usually wear netting to protect us, but this time was not prepared. Last year my husband had gotten bitten so much he looked like a red balloon.. Red Cabbage

~ Healing Salts ~

~ Phour Salts ~

Young pHorever pHour Salt by phMiracle is the "ultimate" baking soda: A combination of four powerful carbonate salts (sodium bicarbonate, magnesium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, and calcium bicarbonate) that help maintain the alkaline design of human, plant, and animal organisms.
These salts are naturally occurring in all fluids of the body. Specifically, they can aid in the reduction of acidity in the lymphatic, circulatory, and gastrointestinal systems.
pHour Salts™ may be used daily to increase the alkalinity of any food or drink.

An acidic body produces illness and an alkaline system encourages healing. A good way to speed up alkalinity is to take salts in your water. I have been taking salt in my water now since January . If I drink water without the salts i find the water just goes through without any absorption . I feel thirsty no matter how much I drink. I add a tsp of salt in a liter of water and drink 4-6 liters of water a day. I either use Arm and Hammer baking soda or a perscription called Tri salts. Dr youngs salts, Phour salts is the best you can take because it has the right balance of the essential electrolytes you need to feed your cells.

~ Tri Salts and Sodium Bicarbonate ~

A good way to check your acid/alkaline ballence is with PH strips . Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic. When drinking salt water it may be anywhere from a 9 to an 11.5. It takes about 15-30 minutes after consuming salt water to feel the difference. What the stips show from either your urine or saliva is not what a blood test result would be. You want your body to remain alkaline above 7 aiming for at least 9-11 for twelve weeks to see disease reverse itself. Disease such as diabetis, heart disease and cancer can be reversed from the alkaline diet. Salt however is only part of the alkaline diet . The raw/green diet is what will make the difference. If you have high blood pressure you do not want to be taking a lot of alkaline salts without first eating a high alkaline diet. This means eating no acidic food at all!! ~ Watermelon Smoothie ~

Watermellon is a highly alkaline fruit. It is a very hydrating food and should not be eaten with other foods. Proper food combinging is very important to ensure the smooth digestion. Fruit is best eaten on it's own. It is a great way to begin a meal and causes a type of funnel for the other foods afterwards to be digested. Most people traditionally after a large meal eat fruit for a healthy alternative. This is a huge mistake and will cause a lot of abdominal cramping. The ( SAD) has typically a large meal for supper that includes animal proiten and starchy foods followed with fruit as dessert. Animal protien takes minimum of four hours to digest with fruit ontop which would normally take only 15-25 min. This causes fermentation and rotting in the gut which encourages yeast and fungus.

Simplicity at it's best !!

I have always said that the simple things in life are sooo beautiful . I was so excited to learn that the flowers I had always admired were edible. I ran outside lastnight took a number of photos and then picked a bunch of red clover flowers. As it said in my last post how healing they are I decided to add some to my salad for a snack. I picked the petals one by one and really enjoyed the taste of them. **
