~ Raw Chocolate Dipped Frozen Bananas ~

I found a wonderful recipe for liquid raw chocolate. I have been wanting to make a chocolate that would harden. I did however find this recipe bitter for my taste. My goal eventually is to make raw chocolate truffles.

Anyhow Ani Phyo has a recipe for raw chocolate. You can find that recipe in her new fabulous book, Ani's Raw Food Desserts
I noticed she has her recipe published on her site for anyone to try so here it is......

Liquid Chocolate, page 74

1 cup cacao butter, melted
1/2 cup cacao powder
1 Tablespoon mesquite powder
1 teaspoon maca powder

I used agave instead of maca...

I was surprised how fast the chocolate hardened. I had to put it in our little crock pot to keep in a liquid form long enough to dip my bananas.I dipped them twice in the chocolate. The first time I dipped then put them in the freezer for ten minutes then dipped again to give them a good coating then added some organic shredded coconut on top.

Bananas were half price this week so we bought lots of them for this recipe.

It is very difficult to find fresh coconut here so I ended up stocking up on organic coconut from Planet Organic health food store.

I find that eating these before they get too frozen is much better. Left overnight they become solid and it is hard to taste the chocolate. The other option is to take them out for about ten minutes before you plan to eat them.
